Welcome to Almavina Insights, Reader! I am beyond excited to officially kick off Almavina Insights, twice-weekly nuggets of wisdom and truth about organizational culture, career development, and women in the workplace, delivered straight to your inbox. When I left my full time job last fall, I wasn’t sure where I was headed. I spent some time prioritizing my health, considering my options, looking at job postings, reading (a lot), and writing (even more). I realized two things – I loved having complete ownership of my time and my focus, and I had a lot to say! Launching Almavina Strategic Partners was the first milestone, and today marks the second – the first “issue” of Almavina Insights! What you can expect from Almavina InsightsThe work of Almavina Strategic Partners focuses on professional organizations in mission-driven spaces and the issues that they face: toxic organizational culture, rocky (or nonexistent) leadership development, and more. So what does that mean about what you can expect to read here? You know all those conversations that go on in your head? We’re going to have them here. When you think “Is this really happening?” We’re gonna talk about it. When you aren’t sure where you should go next or how to get over this next hurdle? You’re gonna tune in to get some ideas and some advice. At the very least, my hope is that you will feel seen. Together, we’re gonna build a community of women (and the men who believe in them) who are going to make the working world more peaceful and purpose-filled, one badass leader at a time! Specifically, we're going to name and discuss some of the obstacles to building a healthy organizational culture. We're going to share real stories of real women and the roadblocks they face in advancing their careers. And before you race for the unsubscribe button screaming "this sounds like a real downer!", know that we are also going to share stories of hope and progress, tips for removing those roadblocks, and other solutions-oriented material. And, because I love to read (like really, really LOVE to read) expect some book recommendations and other "extras" sprinkled in as well. My Ask of You, Reader! You’re not done! Signing up to receive Almavina Insights was just step one. Here are my hopes and expectations for this community: Read with an open mind

Link of the WeekAt the end of each email, I plan to share a resource, a book, a social media post, or some other helpful or fun bit that highlights the work of others. Since today's email is an orientation of sorts, I am sharing a link to the Almavina Insights blog. The blog is where you can interact with the main content of the newsletter and see historical posts. Head over there to see what you've missed so far! Here we go, friends! Onward together. Wishing you a peaceful and purpose-filled week, Beth www.almavina.com |
